Transporting your bikes. UPDATE! CHECK THIS OUT!!

Re: Transporting your bikes. I fold the seats down and lay a blanket down. Then I put the bike in whole, front wheel first.

    "Most over done trend?"

I do admire fixies that are done nicely like the one Stretch has. I just hate how they drive up prices. It's the same with the SUV craze again too. Me, I'd be lost without the ability to coast.

NEW STUFF AT WAL-MART (Op Bike PICS ADDED)

Are the cheaper forks adjustable? I know the bike with the suspension fork even came in a nice flat green and a flat orange. I don't know about wheels that large though. I'm accustomed to 24"-26"s.

What to do with this collegiate?

Our Goodwills never have anything besides kid's bikes. I would ride it out as is. I've realized sometimes riding is the best advertisement for a bike. Someone will see you on it and reminisce about how they wanted that bike when it came out and there you have your sale. Nice!

NEW STUFF AT WAL-MART (Op Bike PICS ADDED)

The white fork ruins it for me. I would probably get the suspension fork, even though it felt a bit soft.

NEW STUFF AT WAL-MART (Op Bike PICS ADDED)

Xray, do you remember the name of the bike with the solid forks? I was attracted to the 29", but was dissapointed that there was no place for an air pump on the bottom of the frame. I guess I would have to go to town with the drill & tap had I purchased one of these. A 29er would be a great...

NEW STUFF AT WAL-MART (Op Bike PICS ADDED)

I saw a pretty neat 29er today at Wal Mart today. The Deception, $199. The only thing I would do is remove the decals and switch to a solid front fork. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mongoose-Dece ... e/14956326

    Home made rear racks

I want to make one out of a pair of bike forks and sheetmetal, but it would be a bit sacrificial.

update to the update!!! let me hear what you think!!!

We have the Charlie Brown tree here on our kitchen table. I would rather look at a bike than a tree personally.

Lets see your panniers/ touring bags

Good stuff. I planned on using a chicken broth or bean can can large enough to hold my keys, wallet, phone, a spare tube, and a few tools. Our manual can opener cuts the lids off smooth, so they can be reattached easily. I planned on putting a few slits through the back of it to hold it on my...

Lets see your panniers/ touring bags

Home made, or bought. I want to make a set out of a few briefcase/ file cases or a pair of small computer case shells. I don't want to copy anyone, I just want to see how others went about theirs. The only thing I plan on buying would be a few nuts and bolts and the metal strips to attach to...

    "Most over done trend?"

I have to say Fixies. I like 70s 5 speeds myself, and this Fixie craze has made getting another one on the cheap next to impossible. I would buy a bike with a flip flop hub, but I would only use the freewheel side.
