Diamondback street rod now JOSCAT'S CAFFEINACHRONISM RACER

Re: Diamondback street rod I must get onto that wheel relacing with 'front brake hub'.. I have a suntour alloy screw on rear road hub, which the drum winds onto. I will finally get around to trying the tires on the old steel rims too.

Re: Diamondback street rod hey anyone got any ideas where i could fit some more leather on this thing? maybe a custom frame pad or something? I think it should look racey, simple, sort of logical to the function.

    The Galtbacken 18

man you just keep getting better and better.. I think if you did some work in a bike shop you would get some really good ideas mechanics- wise to boost your amazing herculean feats of aesthetic weld- powers! to my eye the shorter bike looks way better. some bmx/ single speed geometry combined...

Re: Diamondback street rod I'm contemplating calling her finished.. my mind is starting to wander to other bikes.. but I really should get a headlight and a speedo fitted... and maybe something more insane for the handlebars

    Remove Kenda Flame logo???

"MIGHT attack the rubber???? sorry but if you want your tires to last more than a couple months don't let ANY solvents touch them. I use solvent based spraypaint lightly on tires sometimes, but only if i'm feeling reckless and dont mind if they start splitting and cracking before the year's out...

    Urban Menace bikes

I reckon the general idea is darn sweet, but i find the seat and fork a bit cheesy- 90s cheap mtb- looking. it must be hard to find new parts in plentiful supply that look right though, if you're going into production. have you considered a fixed gear version?

    '42 BFG (Schwinn) klunker....

I'm tempted to steal elements of that feather pattern and make some stencils for my build- off hotrod. p.s. do those skinny american seatposts ever bend at that length?

Re: Diamondback street rod the crank arms: seeing as the RH crank arm already had 4-5mm clearance, all i had to do then was bend the LH crank arm quite a bit. I was able to pre- bend the pedal end to align with the main bend using my vice-grips and the verandah railing, but the main bend...

Re: Diamondback street rod this is what it looks like now. after lots of adjusting it runs reasonably wobble free, but has consderable 'bounce'. i realise i have made it slightly triangular due to contraction of the 3 'spokes'

Re: Diamondback street rod OK. so I don't like these cranks ( ) and I recently found these Raleigh brand cranks and bits on a trash exercycle. super classy peds and the cranks are (I think) 165 instead of 170 so still long enough but with better ground clearance: and it has a really nice...

Raisin under the SUN!!! update 7-5

Re: Diamondback street rod Hehe at the risk of sounding too cheeky.. we dont really have 65 pound bikes in nz. Those funny bendy looking structurally illogical american things (as my dad's generation would probably say)- too much metal for the sake of looking speedy! but really, cruiser frames...

    Black Coffee & Cream (8/1 - FINISHED!)

Re: Black Coffee & Cream (Mockup 6/9) man i'm digging the stance as well. short and fat and stripped down! this is the sort of style that got me hooked on this site! unfortunately i don't see so many bikes that I really go wow over.. but it's great that everyone seems to be getting there hands...
