    Delta Light update to LED

Last night I used a little wax paper and tape and filled in the rust holes, a rivet hole and the old switch hole. Easy to drill thru if I want a to run electric to the frame from the light. Finished fitting in the battery and made sure the charging cord and the power switch can be reached...

    Dye Banana ?

I used purple metallic spray paint on faux yellow suede. Fake leopard didn't work as well as the tiger.

    Delta Light update to LED

Put some jbweld on the back of the board to keep the wires from rattling around and breaking off. Also used some Ultra Blue silicon to try to glue in the switch cover And JB welded some speed nuts into the case. Gotta wait for the silicon to dry before I can finish putting in together.

    Delta Light update to LED

Fun fact. These cheep $8 a set little bicycle headlights run on the same voltage as an 18650 Lion Battery. Soldered in a single socket. The charging system on board will also charge them, all be it at a slower rate, but will get a huge amount of hours in a single charge.

    Delta Light update to LED

Ground the corners off that square base. I was happy to see the threaded base would fit thru the original bezel and I can screw on the new bezel to hold it tightly in place. Painted it up after a coat of etching primer. I used a satin white. Will shine it up with some polish after it cures...

    Delta Light update to LED

As we build up old patinas and sometimes rusty bikes, sometimes those holes in the fenders need an original style fender light. Fender lights on ebay are usually out of my price range if they work. With current prices, you can pick up a cheap non working one for 30-50 bucks. Rusted inners or...

    old paint and lead

Reviving this old thread as a reminder. I've done it, and I know a lot of us here have done it. Get that old frame or part from the 30s or 40s and there's a bit of corrosion on it and we sand it close to our face while watching that corrosion go away. I picked up this 40s delta rocket for...

    Pads,

Here's a Blast from the past. Can't find the pic where I stitched this pad together from three pieces of leather, but it was essential to keeping my knees from being all bruised up on the downhill side of the loop. Propped up on a rock near a cliff on a trail called "Broken Knee" near Blue...

Found an old pic of the mirror I dug out of storage. Built for MBB03's Valiant. I used it on an aluminum framed denim build at some point and polished off the stamping. Made from a 60s Mopar sport mirror shell. One of the spares I picked up for the Dart. Polished stainless instead of a...

Who are you? (with a bike of course)

Yes, the desert has its own hazard challenges for sure. Especially off-trail like i do a lot. Hehehe. I've had cactus seeds blow off while riding past and stick in my leg or arm numerous times. Or flipped up from back tire and stick to the back of my head. Ouch... I run Mr tuffies in my...

Who are you? (with a bike of course)

In the desert a couple weekends ago. Saw a tortoise shell. Got a flat from that Yucca. Saw a KC highlighter broke off and shot a few times, but left it. Was a long push. Dropped a pin and went back the next weekend and picked it up. Saw this guy while I was out.

Thanks, i'm glad you agree with my thinking on this. I tried to change them out for some shorter bars, but the shorter ones, like the 1" ones didn't look quite right.

Thank You! I am glad you like it. I've been enjoying it almost daily. Even when I came back from our Thanksgiving trip to Utah it was there waiting for me. Hmmmm... Lots of years of practice riding with a 12 pack under one arm on the trip back from the discount beer store around the big...

At some point after the stem breaks loose, an oxalic bath and a buff job will be in order. Some of the rattiness will be gone at that point and the restored seat will be back on it. For now it is close to done unless I add some cut down fenders and make a ducktail or two. Will dig some out...
