    Happy Halloween!

    Who's punk is this?

Thankfully it didn't nuke the feed mechanism or damage the main unit. I'll have to replace the whole lead, likely have to Jerry rig the replacement if it isn't directly compatible

    Who's punk is this?

Well poop. My 30+ year old Champion MIG welder just gave up the ghost. I dropped the lead and the torch head broke off. Thought I had it Jerry rigged enough to work again, struck one arc, and welded all of the wire in the hose to the feed line. Basically nuked my welder

    Who's punk is this?

Not a lot of progress today. Did some trimming, and I think I've got the top of the tank figured out with the help of my C.A.D. file (cardboard assisted drawing)

    Who's punk is this?

Thank you. This one has been gnawing at the back of my head for quite a while. Feels good to finally get it out where I can beat it with a hammer (where necessary, lol)

Made a bit of progress on the tank, until it got too cold in the shop. Had a little oopsie with the sawzall

Added the seat brace. Originally rolled it to match the radius of the wheel, but I liked it better at an odd angle. I wanted it to flow better with the spike on the bottom, so I fired up the torch and gave her a tug. Still working on the design for the dropouts and the rest of the rear...

    Who's punk is this?

Here it is next to Gerty, who is already stretched 10" longer than a stock bike. Final length should be right around 100 inches, or 254 cm long

    Who's punk is this?

Popped everything out of the frame jig to get a bead on the profile. This should do nicely

    Who's punk is this?

Busted out my super high tech, ultra precision (patent pending) bottom bracket shell alignment tool. Yup, a bar clamp and a 2x3

    Who's punk is this?

Got a bit more work on the rear section done today. I don't have a fancy shmancey Tig rig, but I do have skills with flame welding. I'm pretty rusty, but it looks decent enough. Got the rear axle spacing figured out with help from the oxygen tank cap. Still have to work on the dishing of...

    Who's punk is this?

Working on the frame today. I wanted a few interesting details on it, so rather than just capping the end of the tubing, I sliced it at an angle to make some spikey bits, then capped them and blended the weld for a seamless appearanceAnd then there were two. Started on the backbone as well

Here's a better pic of the modified rear hub. That Huffy sprocket really works as a hub flange

    Who's punk is this?

Finally got started on the frame. It's going to be mostly 1" tubing. Used my 1" rigid conduit bender to make a 55° bend, then cut it extra long and threw it up on the frame jig. It already looks spicy!

    Who's punk is this?

After far too long of a battle, I finally succeeded. I didn't realize it, but the front axle used a proprietary thread pitch and size, somewhere between 7/16-24 and 11mm-ish. I ordered several different sizes and thread pitches, and nothing fit. So I replaced that axle with a standard 3/8"-24...

    Who's punk is this?

FINALLY got back to work on the rear hub. The new flange was about 1/4" too large, so I turned it down to size with my redneck latheHere's a video of the action. I controlled the hub's speed by the angle and pressure of how the grinder was held After it was the right size, I made marks for the...

    Who's punk is this?

Tires are 700x32, mounted on 28x1" rims. I wanted to use Thickslicks, but the 29" tires are 2" wide, and the 700 tires are only 23mm wide, which is too narrow for the look in going for

    Who's punk is this?

Got one wheel built tonight. I'll wait until I have both wheels built to true them. I still have to paint all of the nipples black, but couldn't resist refreshing my wheel building skills

    Who's punk is this?

I have (accidentally) used a different drum brake backwards on another project. It still worked fine, and much better than rim brakes
