    '84 Schwinn Cruiser Kickstand Question

Hi All, Finally getting around to putting my '84 Schwinn Cruiser together. Even treating it to a lay back seat post, Bendix yellow band 2 speed and replacing the tubular fork with a chrome springer! This is the coaster brake model with the 26x2.125 tires. I believe this one was made in...

    Bendix Yellow repair part

Hi, Does anyone have any leads to finding a replacement bearing retainer AB-20 for my Bendix 2-speed yellow band. Mine is in poor shape and making popping noises when coasting. I can't find any on eBay. Is there anything I can substitute? Can I use loose balls instead of a retainer? Thanks!!

    80-ish Schwinn Cruiser ID

Hi, Looking to ID this Schwinn Cruiser frame I have. The rear of the chainguard mounts on the seat stay. It had the obvious weld at the headtube unlike the smooth brazing of earlier Schwinns. Oddly it has the serial number at the bottom of the pedal crank. ES80XXXX. Any idea what year it...

    need fork measurement

Hi, may I trouble someone to give me an exact measurement of a newer 26" springer fork? This is any newer fork where the bolt goes directly through the leg. I want to know the distance between the bottom of the lower bearing retainer cup to the center of the wheel axle. Thanks!!!

    Bigger Springer

Has anyone ever seen or made a Schwinn springer fork larger than the 26" size? I have a 24" jumbo stingray with a 7" pedal crank instead of the usual 5 1/2". I'd like to add more clearance under the pedal and adding a springer meant for a 26" bike still doesn't bring it up as much as I would...

    Musselman hub question

Hi, I have a Western Flyer coaster brake hub which I believe was made by Musselman. It is not the skiptooth style. Strong brake but made moaning noise. When I opened it up I found the smallest bearing ring completely disintegrated. This is the outer one on the outside of the sprocket. I...

Classic Krate Fork vs. China Made

Is my observation correct? I've seen a few of the circa 2007 Made in China Schwinn Krates and they all seem to sit too low in the front. It looks like they use a 20" fork with the 16" wheel. Didn't the classic Krates of the 60's/70's use a 24" fork to compensate for the smaller front tire?

    shocking a sissy

I'm trying to install a spring shock kit on an older sissy bar. The sissy bar I have is 24" total and 20" from seat hole down to bottom. It seems kind of short. Does anyone know the exact measurements for an original Schwinn shock sissy bar used with the shock? thanks.

    Rustoleum Prime & paint

Hi - does anyone have any opinion on the metallic Rustoleum prime & paint all in one can? Thinking about painting my 67 Typhoon gold. It's a jumbo 24" stingray wannabee. Doesn't have to be show quality. Thanks.

    RB2 adjustment?

Hi All, Is there any way to reduce the play on a Bendix RB2 coaster brake hub? I've had this nice hub in storage for years. Finally got around to cleaning and greasing it, and mounting it on a rim. It just seems to have more play than other brakes I've ridden, about a full quarter of a turn...

    ape search

Hey, does anyone know where I can find chrome ape hangers about 16" - 19" high with a 1" center? I'm putting together a 24" jumbo stingray and all the apes I've located require an adapter. thanks, Mike
