    Western Flyer Help.

I am thinking that Huffy bought the rights from the old Western Flyer company and re-released this bike under the Grand Trophy name. Probably in the 80's.. This may have to become the rat bike of all RAT bikes. LOL.. :)

    Western Flyer Help.

Ok guys and gals I found this one today and it was being sold as an old 50's bike. Obviously it isn't even close, anyone know how late they made the Western Flyer Grand Trophy??? It is not in bad shape and I didn't pay much for it so I don't mind.

    Purists Please do not read!!

I couldn't help but wonder while reading through some of the comments. I see people buying bikes for the rear hub, the gooseneck, the skip tooth sprockets, etc.. Most of the time I look at the pics and I wonder how much of that rusted up crap I have thrown in the trash for a newer clean walmart...

    Purists Please do not read!!

A newer Swchinn came up on Ebay today and the guy has only rode it a couple of times. It is basically brand new and is selling for a very cheap price. I am inclined to go buy it and use the parts that will swap with an older frame. I am all about building riders and some of the old stuff is to...

    My first Freshy!!

This bike is what started the fix up craze. I found her almost 20 years ago. She was a complete bucket of rust but all there, I couldn't even tell what brand or color she was. I did a bit of homework and a lot of sanding, bought some new parts and paint. After my first son was born I put a...

    New find.

I picked this baby up today. I paid $86, how did I do? I found this to be somewhat interesting. It must be at least a 1963 model.

    Where to find front end.

Thanks again everyone you have been a great help. Here is the plan, pretty much what Dr. T described but on a 24 frame instead of a 26. I think that will get me enough clearance for my pedals and a good balance from front to rear. :) I will let you know when I acquire the donor bike. I found one...

    ICHI BIKE'S 53' SCHWINN KLUNKER

Have any of you ever seen a decent set of MTB front suspension fit to one of these older cruisers? I have been out of the MTB seen for a long time but would love to hit some light trails again on one of these bikes. :)

    Where to find front end.

Not sure if this pic comes through but this is the look I am going for. Looks like it is setting pretty level. http://i630.photobucket.com/albums/uu23 ... 4eb7cf.jpg

    Where to find front end.

Thanks again guys for the help. I think the 24inch rear idea may be the best way to offset the difference. I appreciate the input.

    Where to find front end.

Chimi, Thanks for the reply. I guess my worry would be that since the 26 fork would be made for the bigger wheel would using a 20 inch wheel drop the front end too much??

    Where to find front end.

I am not new to bicycles but am starting a new project and could use a quick tip. Here goes; my project starts with a 1960's schwinn 26 inch frame. What I want to end up with is a Krate style bike but big enough for me to fit comfortably and go cruising. My question is this; if I want to use a...
