BO15 Splinter (or how I learned to love a LOT of sanding)

I honestly wish I was furloughed or had to work from home during the pandemic, but my work has been busier than ever and I haven't had much free time or energy to devote to it.

BO15 Splinter (or how I learned to love a LOT of sanding)

I came to the conclusion a couple weeks ago that I'm just not able to get the bike finished by the deadline. Its certainly getting done though. Is there any way to have my thread moved to the general "builds" forum?

BO15 Camelback: 26" BMX (Scrambler XL)

Not sure of the frame builder, Charlie Kelly thinks it might be his old Craig Mitchell, but that's not confirmed. Yeah, newer suntour thumbs, but they look the part. The suntour levers let you grab a lot of brake, that helps slow it down.

Great build, I just got this klunker project I built up with some parts I had been hoarding.

Me too! Lol a bit of fine tuned cutting and gluing before I get to that though. I feel good about being here at the halfway point. Thank you! I hope not, but I'll be ramping the plastic so it won't be too abrupt against the chain.

    BO15 A Step-Through Time---Changing projects for build-off

Funny, the one I'm planning on using is 32" wide, which should look just right on my build

Sandwiched aluminum plate, screwed through the wood on the top and the bottom.

How wide? Looks to be around 7.25" at the widest point Just have two more layers to cut, should be done with that today or tomorrow

I won't be able to open it up like you see in the photo. The layer that goes above it will cover less in the center of the bike, so I need to leave enough room to make sure it isn't exposed. The channel will actually be fully open though. Guides for the top chain will be along the wood and...

Had to do a bit of prep work to get the wheel to set right before I was able to measure this out

Sidetrack Space: Build Off Highlights and Chat.

Thanks! Space is limited, so no pulleys, I also want it so be smooth so I won't feel the notches of the chain as i pedal. I can shape the plastic to have a gradual ramp, so that lowers that affect. Chain guides like these, with the same plastic, are used on down hill mountain bikes and 3-wheel...
