    Apes and bananas

The project has been standing still for too long now. There's an exhibition coming up in July and I wanna present this bike there. I was already fed up with the original colour scheme, so I came up with a new one.

    Apes and bananas

Thanks guys. I put it (sort of) back together today. The stance changed of course because the fork was in the wrong position on that last photo. I just reversed the original brackets, without having to make a new one. The ride is good again! Setup: stance right now: I'll make some...

    Apes and bananas

After emailing a few people who know more about bicycles than me, and after thinking for very long, I finally grew the balls to cut up the frame. To increase stability and most of all control of the bike I decided to increase the angle of the headset, to match the angle of the front fork. First...

    Apes and bananas

Thanks, the thing is, it ain't done yet. I'm really struggling with the steering. It's way too sensitive/wobbly. I want to fix it, without having to redo the whole fork. I know the problem is in the trail, but there are so many bicycles with a huge negative trail...

    Apes and bananas

Allright, thanks. I got a pair of chrome rims yesterday (have to go back for 1 cause it's damaged) And took the bike for a spin today. .... it's twitchy. The steering was VERY sensitive because of the negative trail of course, so I took a rubber band thing and tied it around the fork to see...

    Apes and bananas

I thought whitewalls on chrome rims wouldn't look too good, but it does, plus I found 28 1 1/2 inch whitewalls… problem might be solved :)

    Apes and bananas

The steer was delivered this morning :D I put it on as soon as I got to school: I'm still thinking about the wheel/rims and therefore the colors too. The thing is I'm doubting between 2 kind of rims (and whatever follows after that choice) regular 28" rims or classic omafiets (grandmothers...

    new stretch build

I thought about using whitewalls in combination with white rims too, but didn't know whether it'd look good. But now I've seen this  It's awesome, not only the wheel combo, but the whole bike. professional build 8)

    Apes and bananas

I thought the seat was too wide, so I started the day by maken it narrower. Took the measurements off of a genuine bananaseat. After that I started fabricating the sissybar. Same tubing size as the truss rods to get some repetition within the materials. Sissybar is connected to the rear...

    Apes and bananas

I finally got the skateboard today so I started on the banana seat. I first took off the griptape and sawed off the broken end. Then I cut out a shape in paper and transferred it onto the wood Which I then cut into shape Couldn't do more yet. Tomorrow I'm going to buy some bolts so I can...

    Apes and bananas

Allright, got to some small things today. I made the trussrods, which are going to give the fork a bit more strength, I didn't quite trust it yet. I made em out of an old fender bracket and some metal pipe I slided the old parts into the pipe, but I haven't welded em yet and thats what it...

    SuperRat 32

Looking good! I think the line of the tank is far better looking than the top tube. May I ask what you used to paint the whitewalls?

    Apes and bananas

Allright, got to do the final parts. It's now put together, but still needs some finishing touches (nuts n bolts, washers) First drilled and fancied up the U shaped bracket I made 2 plugs which fitted the end of the fork, welded 'em in and drilled holes to tap m8 thread into, these were to...

    Apes and bananas

I made the bracket again, looks a lot cleaner now Also I made the other bracket, which goes on the other side of the springs. I'm gonna plug the fork tubes with some iron bar, and drill holes into them, so I can just bolt the bracket on. Gonna make it look prettier, don't worry ;)

    Apes and bananas

Couldn't do too much the last days, but I cleaned the weld, and had to do some rewelding too, because I grinded through the tubing And the keeper of the workshop had some springs for me. I started on the bracket, but I probably have to redo it since it got messed up bigtime... Still curious...

    Apes and bananas

Since I was bored, I decided to build another bike. Took me a while to find something I liked, but there it is. I love the bent springer forks, but I wanted to make one instead of just buy it. Also by making it you learn stuff... (plus, they are harder to get by here in the netherlands). I...

    Stretched Boardtracker, DONE!

Re: Stretched Boardtracker, copper bars completed. I'm dying to see a photo or vid of someone (you) sitting on it or riding it. Curious about the position. Because it looks awesome
