Worksman Frame, fork, and some extras

I bought this frame on here several years ago with the intention of building a klunker. Never found one of those round-tuit‘s, and don’t see myself getting it done anytime soon. Frame was stripped down and has a forced patina, but no pitting. Also have a set of bear trap pedals to go along...

Little help from the Schwinn Guru's

This one is listed local to me for $60. It's interesting to me, but I don't know if I have $60 worth of interest in it. The frame looks like a Suburban to me, but the bars don't match. Almost looks like someone klunked out an old lightweight, but I'm not sure. You guys think it's worth it?

    Checker Pig?

A CPX 3040 has popped up for sale locally, and it looks interesting. But I'm unable to find very much info online about them, at least in English. Best I can tell they seem to be quality bikes, but I'm not sure they have much collectors value.

    Remove riveted badges

I have a frame I need to strip down, but want to save the badge. I tried pressing them out from the inside, but can't get enough leverage to get them out. Any pointers for how to get these suckers out?

    Gettin' Klunky

Got this old Zep frame from ozzmonaut and am finally getting around to building it up. I have pretty much everything to finish it up, just waiting on tires to come in.

    New Danny Macaskill Video

Once again, I'm blown away by this dude's skill.

    Late 90's Raleigh M40

I've got a crack at this one for $35. Looking at the bikepedia site for the model it looks like the compenents are at least decent. If nothing else I'll have some parts to work with, but I'd really like to flip it for some extra cash. Sound like a decent deal...

North Carolina Vintage Bike Meet & Swap

Just stumbled across this on craigslist. Doesn't look like I'll be able to attend, but I thought I'd pass it along in case any of you guys were interested. http://greensboro.craigslist.org/bik/4690417435.html

    Couple of Ladies Bikes Today

I was out on a farm, doing some planning with the owner when I spotted a couple of bikes piled up behind a shed. I asked if he was interested in selling them, and he told me to load them up and get them out of his way. The one that caught my eye was this Jamis Earth Cruiser The second...

    New Ball Bearings

How many of you replace the ball bearings in old bikes you build? The ones in the bike I'm currently working on aren't shot, but they aren't as smooth as I'd like either. I just noticed a post in another thread mentioning it, and just thought I'd throw it out there for everyone.

    Layback Post Idea

I need a layback seatpost for a bike I'm working on, and was perusing the net trying to find some home cooked ideas. One forum post I stumbled on suggested cutting up an old handlebar. The original poster said he had been doing it for decades, with no issues. Anyone here tried it with...

Can't decide which way to go with this one

A while back I started a thread about sentimental bikes. Well, this is the bike I was talking about in that thread. My pappaw used this bike to get to work and back, and around town, before he started driving sometime in his 30's. My dad restored it a while back for him and he used it once...

    Got me a Scrambler

Did a little horse trading with a guy on another forum and ended up with this little beauty. Haven't really had time to ride it yet, but I hope to change that this afternoon. The top tube is a tad short for me, my 200# but is crammed in there, but I'll manage.

    Cignal Top Gun

I stopped by a thrift store a guy a know runs just a little while ago and he had one of these out front for $20. A quick Google search on my phone while I was there didn't turn up much, and what I did find wasn't positive. Besides, the top tube was way too short for me to ride comfortably...

Getting a frame, but what kind?

I'm doing a little horse trading on another forum for what the guy says is a Western Flyer frame and fork. All I have to go on so far is this pic. Can any of you ID it? I'd like to try to find some pics of finished bikes for inspiration.

    Trek 7000

This bike was my intro into bike tinkering. Bought it last summer because I wanted to get back into mountain biking and rode it hard. It needed some work, and I was wanting to give single speed a try so it ended up like you see it here. Unfortunately, the frame wasn't a good fit for me and...

Any of you have sentimental bikes?

My pappaw's (yeah, I'm a redneck) old Schwinn is hanging in a shed over at my dad's house. I'm not sure of the year or model of it, but it's the one he used to get around until he finally got his driver's license sometime in the 70's. My dad restored it for him as a Christmas gift sometime in...

    NG from NC

Hey all, new guy from the middle of NC here. I stumbled across this site while researching restoration tips and thought I'd join up. I mostly mountain bike (rigid, single speed), but have been contemplating a BMX to tool around town on and ride at a local pump track. Now you guys really have...
