    Copper plating

Looks sweet! A very nice alternative to a bronze or gold paint. Would also look amazing as a candy on a brushed surface. I'm looking for a finish more like chrome, but copper if that makes sense. This has a bit more of a bronzed look to it, and I'm looking for bright copper.

    Copper plating

I remember this thread, yea. I was just wondering if anyone had done a high polish copper finish. Sometimes when you're doing copper as a bonding layer it doesn't have to be that high of a shine, but since I want to try and use the copper as my final finish I'd like to get it as shiny as...

    Copper plating

That's why jewelers use cariers, bonders and brightners in their solutions. I know for sure there's copper poweder coatings out there. There's a company here that specializes in all sorts of weird powdercoats ans specifics painting processes. They have copper and even chrome powdercoats. Kinda...

    Copper plating

Has anyone tried copper plating bike parts? I know that it's become fashionable in the past couple of years to have some copper accents, but I'm thinking about building a bike and replacing everything chrome with copper plating. I've done some research but it seems that none of the DIYers can...

Cheap and effective way to remove powder coating?

Thanks for the tips! I couldn't really find any paint stripper here that was aggressive enough to remove powder coat. I tried a few, but without result. I thought about sanding it and painting it over, but I want to do a really nice paint job this time so I ended up buying a sandblaster like...

Cheap and effective way to remove powder coating?

Hiya fellas! I'm currently working on a chopped bicycle frame and I'm planning on doing a real fancy paint job. Probably something like marble paint. Those kinds of paint are hella lot of work, but turn out amazing if you take the time to do it right. I already did a bunch of TIG welding on it...

Beach Cruiser to Board Track Racer

I finally found a few of the remaining parts! It took me forever to find a 21.1 mm headstem in the Netherlands... But I found one from Lowrider. So now I can do the final assembly at last. I also made a cup holder. I was riding the other day and had no place to put my drink, so I needed one. All...

    Fake-Rust Paint Job?

I bought the only rust paint avalible in the Netherlands but it didn't look that good, so I abandoned the idea and went with metallic blue. I just couldn't find a suitable paint and I had to paint it because I didn't want to let the actual bike rust. Here's the bike thread...

Beach Cruiser to Board Track Racer

So I got a new pair of pedals, and they look great! Especially with my new nickel plated chain. I also got the right saddle! A proper Brooks, no more fuss about the colors not matching with the grips and all! It also offers a nice spot for my rear light, it looks waaaay better this way...

Thanks! I'll post some more pictures soon when I'm closer to finishing it. As I said, I need to do some more small things.

Beach Cruiser to Board Track Racer

It is indeed, it was just a metallic blue can I bought in the store... And I did use more cans than I had planned, because I wasn't satisfied every time it was 'done', so I sanded a lot of it down a layer to get it all smooth again. I used about six, so it turned out quite expensive. And after...

Beach Cruiser to Board Track Racer

Okay... So I've been sanding some more and this weekend I finished the paint and after some clearcoat it looks like it's cady paint :D Adding some primer.. Really weird stuff. It creates a clear coating on the bike. Here I finally got rid of the crank Here I added the new crank and gear...

Beach Cruiser to Board Track Racer

Okay, so it's been a while, but I've finally finished my rusty paint. But... I didn't like it, so I removed it again. And after a lot of sanding down and paint remover, it looks like this now. You can now really see all the colours it has had. Blue, black, white, blue again and then my...

    Fake-Rust Paint Job?

That actually looks really good and realistic. I would love to see how it's done. I've also found another type of oxy-paint here in the Netherlands. It works and looks pretty much the same (same goes for the price...).So I think it will be eithrt this or the oxy-paint.

    Fake-Rust Paint Job?

I've already seen types of paint such as Modern Masters , and they do indeed look very good. But I live in the Netherlands, and this kind of paint is hard to get. Most stores have never even heard of it. Wich is too bad, I would really like to use it because it's not the actual bike that is...

    Fake-Rust Paint Job?

Hi there, I am building a bike and I am aiming for a more rat rod like one. Ofcourse, being a rat rod, it is supposed to be weathered. So I want to create a fake-rust paint job. I am currently experimenting with different paints. But does anyone have some links or info or maybe even a brand of...

Beach Cruiser to Board Track Racer

Okay... So sorry for not posting in a long time. To be honest, I just forgot about it... So I got a different seat wich covers the pin under the seat better, I made a rearlight under it and I got a different dynamo for it. A first a great dynamo (even Swiss made by a company named Locomotief...

Move the seat to the back?

That's really clever, and it looks great too!

Beach Cruiser to Board Track Racer

Okay, so I'm down to the three color examples that are below in the post. I really like the light blue one, but the dark one too! It is a really hard choice for me...:39: If I were to make it red, it will have black rims like the old Indians. I have also picked up some parts, I found a...
