I want to put a 29" front wheel on my 26" Hawthorn, but I don't want the tubular style forks. If I extend a set of forks to fit, what are the concerns about geometry and safety? I can have them Tig welded. The cool thing is I could get a disc brake wheel.

Ok, I am willing to trade for a fork with a good tube, to repair my fork, also a 26" fork for a custom project.

ok, then I need some DOM tubing, Can I just cut the excess off then? Also How do I date the age of this bike- the SN# H54583.

Pretty sure its Hawthorn- the badge was still screwed on. Today I went to my bud's and he helped me, the crank is bent, so he had a spare Schwinn one from a Exercycle, went right in and runs great. Now the problem is my forks, the threads are messed up where the bearing race screws down...

I have been trying to build this bike, I have had it for 10+ years, now its getting done, so far only money spent is for paint and tubes. but I am having a problem reassembling the crank, it might be bent, cause cant seem to get it to run straight, i know the sprocket is ok, cause I laid on...

I just scored a bike off craigslist $50 - but it has 29" tires and the rear has some flat spots on it, so I need to replace. Looks like a walmart cruiser black with green rims. but I can't seen to source the tires. Help please

Thanks for the warm welcomes! Been super busy, had to goto Toronto for a Training class, then it seems like they saved all the service calls for this week... WHEW! Late nights till the weekend, But the yard-work is done, so I can play now.
