    (Class 2) UNHINGED

I'm entering a little late in the game, but here I go. I bought this bike a few days ago but haven't had a chance to do any work on it. I just moved to New York a couple of months ago, so I don't have a good work area and I'm separated from my precious parts bin. :( Oh well, where there's a...

Classic Mystery Fork Identification Sought! Mega Rare. Chrome Drilled-Out Blade Fork.

Here is it folks. Sized for a 27" wheel, with a 8" steerer tube. Very similar to a Schwinn blade fork, but the dropouts seem to be a little fatter. Has six holes drilled on each side, done pretty well. Chrome over that. It has a "Race Lite" sticker on one blade, but not sure if it means...

    Coaster brake frame braze-on?

Do you know if anyone sells just the little piece that goes on the frame that replaces the coaster brake strap? I know that someone on here added one to their frame, but they might have made the piece. Thanks.

    The Knee Crusher.

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=7728 Well here it is, Cleveland Welding frame (I'm making it a hawthorn, have the head badge but not pictured). Build it from the frame up. Krylon primer and paint, painted courtesy of my cousin (MikeS on these forums), on the frame, fork, rims...

The knee crusher final mock-up 8/21.

It's a straight-bar cleaveland welding frame, everything else is up in the air though. Here's a very early mock-up, with just a couple of wheels on it. Here's the frozen solid chain.

Tall Marukin road bike single speed conversion.

I still have stuff to do but it's ridable. It's about a 68-69cm frame. It now includes some 27" arayas laced to some cheapo hubs that I took off of a 90's huffy, a wrights saddle that's about to be trimmed, sugino Maxy cranks, SR stem and bars, drilled shimno 600 brake levers with some old...

New shoes for the old Columbia.

Well I recently bought some new wheels and just put them on my Columbia, which turns it from a sort of fixed gear BMX cruiser into sort of a lowrider beach cruiser. Here's how it was: And here's how it is now:

    Rusty rim, what to do?

I recently bought a couple of high spoke count rims, a 68 front and a 144 rear. The rear wheel didn't have a tire on it and the rim is pretty rusty in a couple or parts. Taking off the spokes to clean the rim is pretty much out of the question, otherwise I'm open to suggestion, they're a small...

The smallest 26" straightbar frame ever.

I just picked this up off of craigslist today for $25, I'm unsure of the make, and is repainted. I thought that it may be a 20" frame at first, it was advertised as one but I know that sizing it up by eye is always hard. Turns out that it's just a very small 26" frame, or I guess it could be a...

    Stem shifter turned suicide brake.

I have an old set of suntour stem shifters and I've been thinking of what I can do with them. One idea that came to me was a suicide brake. As you can see in the picture, I just attatched a seatpost where it would normally clamp on to the stem, I would then weld together the shift levers and...

    Columbia cruiser turned BMX.

Bought it for a hundred dollars, and it's well worth it. First "BMX" that I've ridden/owned and I'm very pleased with it. I'll give the specs and more pics once I get it cleaned up.

    Seat modificaton/painting.

I have one of these seats that I bought a while back: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B0000VSGSW/ref=dp_image_z_0/105-9668076-4233213?ie=UTF8&n=3375251&s=sporting-goods It's pretty comfortable, but it just has the schwinn logo in too many places. I'm thinking of cutting off the bottom...

    Schwinn sidewinder semi-replica.

http://www.firstflightbikes.com/1982_Sidewinder.htm One of the early schwinn mountain bikes, they basically took a varsity frame and added BMX parts to it. I have a varsity frame and essentially all of the parts that are required. I'll update the thread with pictures once it gets underway.

    Vintage-style clunker bike.

I'm planning on making a vintage-style clunker bike. I traded with skoda for a rear drum brake with 5 speed freewheel, and I'm pair it with a schwinn cruiser frame. I'm not sure how old the schwinn is but it has a BMX style fork. I'll get pictures up as soon as I can.

Has anyone ever put a __________wheel on a bike?

I've seen people put huge car wheels on the back of choppers, but has anyone ever put a spare car tire on a bike? Also moped wheels look to be tough.

Best method of rust/paint removal and refiniishing.

I have a frame that is heavily oxidized, and doesn't have much paint left. I plan to strip all of the paint and remove as much rust as I can, then give it a couple coats of primer. So what is the most effective way to remove paint and rust? And would it hurt to just go over it with some...
