Got the frame cleaned up today, and applied a coat of blo. Looking nice out in the sun. Found a better location for the shifter also, much better. I wanted to keep the front end clean, hence the suicide shifter.

I honestly have no idea on the paint at this stage. At first I was definitely painting the frame. But now I look at it and don't mind the original paint and decals. I might clean it up, and add a coat of clear to make it pop.

Couple little jobs today. Found a pushrod for the shifter and installed it, also changed out the 22t sprocket for an 18t.

Not what I had originally planned, but I like it. They tell you what they want, as you try different ideas. I like this look

Bmx stem and Moto bars are a good combo here. Liking how this build is coming together

Tried on some big cruiser bars. Way too big and ugly on this frame

Made a few more updates to my Redline, back to 26" wheels, with polished sides and some tasty Panaracer 26x1.75 skin walls.

Tried on this wheelset, with 3 speed coaster out back. I'm liking it.

Can get away with it due to the long rear end. The cut is back behind the chainwheel

Finally got some time today, to weld the rear end back up. Added a peice of flat stock to bridge the gap, after opening up the chain stays for tyre clearance. This bike did come fitted with a 26x1.75, but I want to allow up to a 26x2.4.

Swapped out the fork, and cut the rear end for tyre clearance. Then threw some parts at it for a look see. Planning to run the 7 speed internal geared hub. I like the clean look without a derailleur.

When I picked up this one, it was somewhat of a breach cruiser Mixte, wearing 26x1.75 tyres. Thought it would make a cool build with some fat 26s, as most Mixte's I've come across are for skinny 27s. Some pics trialling a 26x2.25? Fitted up, these are bigger than my maxxis DTH 2.3s, and...

After a massive clean up last Christmas, the only step through frame in my inventory is this Mixte. So putting the question out there, are Mixte builds allowed?

I have been rather distracted lately focusing on my 1928 Ford. Haven't looked at the bike build for the last month

Stripped down ready for mods I would love to run this fork, so long as the new rim will fit. Now i just need to pick up a suitable donor bike before I go any further
