1936 Westfield "Racer" frame up build

The following pics chronicle the changes to my daily cruiser from frame/fork/crank purchase to 3-speed to it's current form, an e-bike conversion. I may still go back to the original crank and ditch the mid-drive electric motor, but for now it's kinda fun.

1936 Westfield "Boardtrack Racer" e-bike conversion

Changed a build I didn't like into this - board track racer knock off. I had the bars up for the pics because today was my first ride on it. I'll post some gallery pics that show it with the bars down board track style. This bike has been my personal rider for a couple years and has gone back...

    1934 Shelby Rider

Just finished (OK, 90%) this 1934 Shelby that will be my daily rider for awhile. Shimano dyno front hub with band brake and 3 speed SA drum brake rear. I geared it low with a Schwinn ladies chainring and opted not to adapt a skip tooth for this one.

    1921 ish Excelsior Motobike build

Just finished (95%) a "Rustoration" on an early 1920s Excelsior Motobike. The bike is not rideable as shown but I have a set of wheels I can put on it for a ride any time. I did not want to paint it, but the 4 layers of spray and house paint necessitated drastic action. I am soliciting...

    20s Indian Tribute e bike

I took a short system check ride on my fake Indian Westfield today. The bike is a 1936 Westfield, which built Indian until 1928 but the 1936 Indian would have been made in Germany. So, there is literally nothing real Indian on the bike but I needed something to do with the frame only eBay...

1935 Shelby Western Flyer Raiders Special

Recently completed Oakland (that's right, Oakland!) Raiders 1935 Shelby Western Flyer ridden by Al Davis before he bought his first Harley (this is a lie) and recently discovered in an abandoned barn near the gates of heck (this could be true). This is a relatively rare Shelby in its own right...

Quick build 35 Shelby Western Flyer Raiders edition

I decided to build this extra Shelby frame I got with another one, so I threw some parts together and three days later..... I am al lifelong Broncos fan, so this was hard to put together. Still playing with saddles, original wheels, lights, etc.

    1930s Shelby Motobike ebike conversion

Took my 30s Shelby Gambles Eagle out for first system check ride, a few miles around the neighborhood, and everything worked perfectly after a rear brake adjustment. The bumpy ride over many speed bumps was surprisingly s. Tomorrow I'll take it for a long ride with a big battery. Specs on the...

    Hello from Colorado

Hello RatRod Community, I got into custom bikes a couple of years ago when a friend of a friend asked me to build them a couple of e bike prototypes for a new business. A year later the guy gave up, I ended up with a couple of e bike prototypes and became hooked on antique and custom bikes...
