    1982 Schwinn Sidewinder

The Varsity frames would accept some of the 1.75" on the markets but most of the 2.125 tires would rub. Most folks would just heat up the stays and bend them to gain tire clearance and replace the fork with a 26" wheel model.

    1966 Schwinn 24" wheel Klunker

It was definitely painted both colors. Just not sure when it was done. The fork points to at least the early 1980's while the parts are mostly late 1970's.

    1966 Schwinn 24" wheel Klunker

Kinda weird bike: 24" wheels, Phil hubs, MAFAC brakes and BMX bars. Canti studs have been brazed on the frame along with cable guides. Not too sure what fork they used? Red on one side and pink on the other.

    1982 Schwinn Sidewinder

With efforts like this, it is easy to see why Schwinn didn't do too well with their early "mountain bikes". Nothing too high end but it sure is clean.

    1979/80 Schwinn Spitfire 5

I think this is the same bike that was marketed as a Klunker 5 in certain markets? Positron "index" shifting even :D

The early Schwinn stuff isn't all that valuable but we like to have good clean examples of some of the "regular" bikes as well.
