Below is an after and before of this ‘57 Schwinn 24” I built. I love the 1976 Schwinn Bicentennials they offered with this accessory seat. So I built my own version. I don’t care for adults on 20” bikes as they look out of proportion with the tall seat posts. I’ve had this bike in the back...

Had a busy weekend with the grandson’s birthday party and helping my parents with some brush cleanup but I was able to get the bike finished up. I don’t really care for the block style Schwinn lettering in the mid 70’s, I had purchased an earlier set of decals for the top tube, but the color...

Yeap, I manage a body shop and we happened to be painting a bumper for a Chevy truck, so this went into the booth at the same time.

The kid at work had some extra primer so I threw the frame in the booth and took advantage of it. I’m hoping to get it sprayed next week so I can start assembly on it soon.

I ended up sending my seat to Joe Crawford and he covered it for me in record time. I sent a bunch of stuff off to get plated. I was pretty happy with everything except for the sprocket. I’m gonna reach out and see if they will do anything about it. I need to get off my ... and get the...

As I was typing that I was wondering if wrapping it was the issue and not printing.

At the body shop we use an app for Auto Data Label and LKQ company. Take the pic send it off and 3-4 business days later the new sticker shows up.

My swimtrunk purchase was a fail to use as the material to cover the seat. I bought the trunks large thinking it would give me more material. The problem is that the pattern is too large and doesn’t look right on the seat. Back to the drawing board.

I was able to get the lower half of the seat pan painted at work today Just happen to be painting an Acura so I threw this in the booth I have the upper half repaired and painted After blasting it was pretty rough I had to patch some holes in it and threw some krylon at it Hoping to...

Got off my butt tonight and got into the shop. I moved the front mount for the chain guard . Then trimmed up the back of the guard to follow the back of the chassis a little better. I then removed the lower fender mount from the kickstand bracket. I had purchased a new Schwinn headstock...

I spent the whole day there with my Dad about 7 years ago. When Bill died I figured the kids would kill the program. This year they bought the Darryl Starbird museum and the Unser museum. I’d say it’ll be around for a long time.

This is a no update update. Life has gotten in the way of progress in the bike. Finished a re wire project on a friends 65 Malibu and made a 300 mile round trip for cars and coffee at the Speedway Motors museum last weekend. Kids graduation, yard work etc. I’m hoping to get back on it soon...

Got my new to me seat in the mail the other day. I have it stripped down. It’s going to need some work before I can start to recover it. Does anyone happen to know what the seat is? It’s an 18”. Says it’s made in Korea.

Borrowed this seat from my yard art Stingray. I’m thinking I shouldn’t have let this stingray sit outside so long. The bike is pretty crusty. Anyways I’m pretty happy with the direction it’s going.

Yeah. I’ve got a buddy that’s done auto upholstery for 30 years. I think we can get it looking right.

This is the seat I’d like. But think I can recover and old seat using some men’s swim trunks and get close enough to the look I’m after.

Does anyone have an 18” banana seat that won’t break my wallet? Cover doesn’t matter as I’m going to recover anyways. I’d love to have the Persons optional seat but it isn’t in the budget for this project. Below is a pic of the new wheels mocked up.
