Walker vs. Julesjunk Kids bike buildoff......

Haven't done diddley since my last post. Hoping to get a little bench time in come Sunday. One of my scrapper buddies dropped this off last night. If they fit, I've now upgraded the rubber. If there's anything on this bike you can use, let me know. I may end up using the fenders, depending on...

Managed a little work this afternoon. Nothing pic worthy. Finish welded the bars. As well as shifted the seat post back an inch and a half. Also decided on the name. "THE BUMBLEBEE" When I show what my wife picked up for the project, it will become apparent why I named it that. Pics to follow...

Thanks. Here's your chance to make some time up against me, as I probably won't get back to it until mid next week.

Snuck an hour in today. First pic is what's going on at the back end of the bike. More later. Digging around, and came across these kids trike handlebars. Don't know where I got them. And have never seen this size diameter before?? I love bullhorn bars, so I've decided to use them, even...

Udall - Easy there, Dubby. You have to remember, these guys are old and require frequent naps between their Ensure and early bird specials..... Please type louder Udall. My hearing no longer so good. And can you send it in larger font? You know, the eyes. Now I'd love to send you some sage...

What does that mean???? Allow me to give you a brief tour of mine....... pics taken about four days ago. And to think, in a previous "life", I was an organization freak.

Since this will be my daughters first bicycle, I of course, have to put the classic bulb horn and thumb bell on it. Given the time, I might try to put a flare on them, but doubtful. Did you say springer?? I have no idea what that is....

Considering the Locomotive theme, the name sounds perfect. Go with it.......

Walker vs. Julesjunk Kids bike buildoff......

Got another hour in this evening after the BEAN went down. Teaser pic, including a front tricycle fender I've decided to use. Had to weld in a nut to hold the fender. Seems I'm leaning toward a beach cruiser look. Not exactly easy considering the chosen frame is all straight bars. Close on the...

Walker vs. Julesjunk Kids bike buildoff......

Walker, As you stated previous, there's not a lot we can do to these little bikes, so I agree with your choice, as it opens up many possibilities for paintwork. ie lots of surface area. Bring it on.....

Walker vs. Julesjunk Kids bike buildoff......

Ok, I stripped the bike down, as well as the parts bike, obviously taking a commanding lead over my opponent early in the game. I wonder if he'll even make his presence known at all......

Walker vs. Julesjunk Kids bike buildoff......

I accept these rather stringent terms..... Here is my candidate. A frog infested little Huffy, saved last fall from a trash pile. Also pictured is the "donor bike". Another curb find. Exact theme not yet determined. Primary color will be yellow. And probably no frogs.....

Walker vs. Julesjunk Kids bike buildoff......

I, julesjunk. A humble small minded midwesterner, do so challenge Walker, a high society bicycle guru east coast English bedwetting type, to an unofficial Kids bike buildoff. Rules to follow shortly. Walker, I'll leave it to you to set the time parameters, as well as deciding if you want our...
