That looks awesome!
Will the bottom bracket be high enough? Hard to tell in that picture.

With a 170mm arm I only get a 10cm clearance, but with a 160 or even a kids set. It will work.
Like I need another bike?
But as I answered that, I forgot I have a 48v-72v 50a controller

Today has been one of those days, that you think you have it all ready,but nothing fits.
So went and picked up my parcels. Parts and munchies.
First box made me laugh, thought classic cycles sent me a live pet. Holes on both sides
And a sneak peak
My next package is munchies to keep me happy while building.

Whats in the box?
Handlebars. - Love them,excellent height. The rear brakes fit perfect, and then tried the front ones, too short, by about 10cm... But then remembered that I have a shimano set from another bike. Issue solved.
But to get the rear ones off I have to disconnect the brakes or grind off the tabs( I want to sell the frame) Bleeding the brakes are easy, but I don't think they will slide out from the frame holders.

Then my control and display leads are to short. I can order a extension, but 80cm(way to long), or maybe I can open up the control and solder a shorter cable... Will deal with that tomorrow. I can use it in a funny position, until it comes.

The Rack - Mounted it and had issues,one bolt had issues,but filed the little lump down, The rack was a bit twisted, but with my convincer(hammer) and a lot of grunting/swearing, I managed to fit it. After I thought,if it was made for the bike,why so hard... Then I remembered I had slightly pushed the dropouts in a little.

Then the chain rubs on the tire and rim if I have it in 1st gear. So all I can do is shuffle the gears around on the cassette, might work. I am using a 8 speed set up,but i never use half of them, so might knock it down to 6 speed.
The derailleur is to long, so will need a shorter one, the long will work,but considering I will jump down in gears, I can get a new set up... I was thinking a suicide shifter. A few things to consider.
Just some parts cleaning for now.

Big box store bikes come with these to prevent lawyers from coming after them when some kid looses their teeth due to a loose front wheel falling off.

I thought that they may have been around a lot longer than people worrying about lawyers, my Polish bikes here in Poland from the 1970s have them, but I would be interested to find out why.

Yep it is overpriced candy... Jerky is best when chewed for while. I miss real jerky. Lucky I have a dehydrator.

Tinkering.
Adjusting issues with the rear cassette. With the rubbing of chain on the tire. I had a thought of trying to make some sort of extender. So butchered a free wheel cassette and hub

I figured if I weld together, I would have a extension. Then I thought again, surly others have had this issue. Then found you can purchase.

So by end of week should be here. Problem solved.
Then I thought maybe I could do the same for the brakes. But moves it over to much. So just a couple of washers will fix this issue.

I'm still not sure on the handlebars as it changes the look of the bike completely. So I am ordering another style and will decide.

That freewheel extension is a brilliant idea.
From memory it is the same thread as one side of a three piece bottom bracket shell too, so you can use the bearing cups as an extension, but nowhere near as neat as the piece.

Damn boy! did not even think of that. Good thinking on that one LTJ ... They use them for e-bikes to turn into single speed. Cost a bit. In USA $64(did not even bother to ask shipping, customs a killer). On ebay from USA 30 + 35shipping . And on Aliexpress 20 with shipping.
End up finding it 35 from spain.(EU so win win)...
But let the guys know at Classic Cycles as worth to have in stock.

I'm just waiting on new bars. The krate are cool but takes away the bmx style.
Also I have a feeling,I will not get the full experience of the air forks.

I just had a closer look at the adapter. I could grind off 1/2 cm, I would then have a perfect fit, or go down to a 5 speed.
So one is go and check out my 5 speeds in storage tomorrow, and the other is grab a old wheel and screw the adapter on and cut it in places , so I don't destroy the thread. That way I can just unscrew it after.
Oh and the adapter for the disk brake will now work.
Next is to make bolt on safety tags for the rear.

Nice chain line!!. I learned something new about these style hub this week from you and LTJ. Putting it in my pocket of tricks for when I run into a similar problem in the future.

So am I, it's a learn as you go along moments. I could make it easy and just throw on a single speed. But because I live in a hilly area at times, and temps can become in the over 40'c, I don't want to burn /overheat my motor. A mate has the same and he almost cooked his.
I need to test LTJ's bottom bracket theory .
So that is also on the cards tomorrow.
