I'm thinking of stealing your girder fork idea... I have a profex hanging in the garage...
Go for it! There are a lot of ways you could go with it.

Dang, that bike just flows so nicely from front to back. Nice work!
Skip (thatismytruck) put gloss black stars on his flat black fork on that build challenge Higgy he did against me - it looks great.
kf,
Since the axle to fork position remains constant, i.e. there's no pivot on a rocker, you should be able to strap the arm to the fork in the traditional manner, no?
Build on!

+1Why? I say, just go with it. Thermoses are cool.
BTW, I'm glad you got over your "builder's block" on this one. I suspect that you still have some sort of "fork block", but you can keep playing with ideas for the fork whilst you sort the rest of the build. I'm sure you'll find a way to pull the fork thing off perfectly... you got some time to play with here....
kinda a little steem punk choppery!! I kinda like it ALLOTBroke down the girvin fork legs and studied the geometry. The top pivot axle is 4mm farther forward than the bottom pivot axle. I will have to account for this in my design. If I put both axle on the fork center line, the fork is no longer parallel with the headtube.
Here is a reference pics of the parts along with a basic mock of the raw fork. I plan to cut the edges away from the leftover superstrut and use it to make a curved trailing edge that matches the curve of the frame.
Of to the hardware store again to see what I can work up for the pivot axle sleeves.

I'm envious, Savannah is one of my favorite cities. Looks like fun!
I like the tourist socks.
Looked all over for some star stencils and couldn't find any. Even went to the dollar store and decided that these glow in the dark stars would be perfect.

I've had a cool plan for the seat for a while and after talking with Tyler about it, I couldn't wait any longer. Covered the seat in tape and used the glow stars and mapped out a starsNbars pattern.

Cut one of the stars out and took my dremel wire wheel to it.

The plan is to have the starsNbars pattern on the seat with no paint. Just alternating rust and semi-cleaned rust.
I am pretty pleased with the first star. Unfortunately it's time to go eat, so I'll have to either finish it late tonight or tomrorrow.

I look at some of the ideas you come up with, and I'm convinced there's "something" in the drinking water, in Savannah...Maybe you should bottle it!
