I'm in, after a break for a couple of years.
I built a great bike a year ago, to be my everyday transport. A lot of thought into frame design, motor etc for max performance. Half way collecting parts, I came across another style of bike frame, that I loved, but could not afford, as way overpriced for voltage etc. So being a stubborn ole mule I stuck to my guns and went with my original thought.
But it has been playing in my mind over and over, and thought hey! build one...
So I found a cheap whole bike here in Greece. 130€ ($156). Only thing I did not know, was it had a alloy frame. I don't have the welding skills or correct equipment, so I will manipulate it and join it with bolts.
Main thing is support my weight and take the torque that I will place on it. If not plan B buy a steel frame from Italy, or recently the frame I actually want has popped up on occasions, but only from UK. Uk is no longer part of EU, so customs is a !!!!. And with all the C-19 shipping is slow, no work due to 6mths lockdown = lack of funds. But my plan is to have the bike rolling rideable and I hope with a 52v mid drive and 48v or 52v battery.
This is what I am starting with.
The moment I picked the bike up from the port, I have been calling it CHUBBY.
I have new Tektro Hydraulic brakes for it (40€ )
Either I will make the forks or purchase a set, will know by Sunday.
