The bike rode great as usual. I was wondering how all of the new tins would do. Especially the slightly different chainguard positioning. But no chain slap of cranks hitting. No unusual noises.

I old friend rode up behind me as I was scoping out a photo spot. It was the first time he saw FOOLIGAN and he loved it. He noticed the RF headbadge right away. Here is an out of focus pic he took of a fool with his FOOLIGAN.

Love the message he texted me afterwards -
"Heck yea! Good to see you still kicking butt with the builds. Makes my heart happy to see you enjoying that experience. "

The other cool encounter I had on my short ride was with a guy that was sitting on a bench near the fountain as I was taking the shadow photo. It started with the typical "cool bike man" call out. I stopped over and told him about it and the build off. He was thrilled how I cobbled all the mismatching parts to make them work together. Our conversation ended by him saying that my bike gave him inspiration and he was going to have to build a cool bike for his son. Hope he ends up on the forum, but mainly I hope he builds that bike!

Fink head experiment. There is an old fender hole here.
Thoughts?

One last try at the mirror. I still think no for this build.

One last test of the fink fork ornament

Fink head experiment.
I like it better on the fork but the bike doesn't really need it now. I think that mirror fits the build and has functionality but makes the bars too busy. A smaller round mirror on a shorter stem with appropriate rust might work better. I really like that mirror though. Maybe it's ok after all. 🤪

Haven't used my coontail since Firewing, but I don't think I am feeling it.

I love the cockpit view that I get while riding FOOLIGAN . The shifter handle is so cool, that I want to enhance that vibe. I've had this Huret speedo for years with the idea of doing just this thing . Gonna cut out the guts and angle the casing so that I get a fake speedo view above the shifter.

EDIT: I've decided not to add this cockpit speedo idea.

Got the saddle spring rail brackets replaced and the seat is locked down again.

Another experiment. The chainguard position changed enough that zi can't use the HotWheels on the front section of the guard any more.

How does it look floating in the space between the seattube and the fender?

I've had these old light for many years, and decided to try them on the fender the old fender brace holes. I love the shape of them with clear jewels in front and red jewels in back. I think they blend well and give me some rear bugeyes to match the front ones. I'll work out the mounting tomorrow since I need to remove the wheel anyway to add a spacer and mount the fender to the seatstay crossover.

I am planning to test my idea for the double sided floating HotWheels flame tomorrow. Just finished painting the reverse piece.
