Ok so I have been looking for a set of head tube races for my firestone middle weight. The lbs told that that there was just one 1" threaded head set cup size. The cups on this where way to small to fit my head tube so I was told it was just an odd size and could not be replaced. So I did a little research and found Sheldon browns headset crib sheet. I found out that the cups on a 1 1/8 threadless headset where the right size. On craigslist I found a Marin novato bicycle frame for $100.00. This frame had a 1 1/8 threadless headset with a disk brake fork. I pulled it apart and miked the bearing cups. As sheldon had said they where 1.338 mm, my old cups where 1.325mm so with a little persuasion they went right in. Next came the fork and now I have a 1 1/8 threadless head set where a 1" threaded was before. Has any one else ran in to this?
