Going to get dirty on this one, I always wanted a cycle truck but something that would take a bit more aggressive riding when not delivering the goods. i know if I got a cycle truck, I wouldn’t do a thing to it but ride it. This way, I get to have a little fun and enjoy it in many different forms. Lots of goodies going on this one.

i am starting off with a 1938 Roadmaster that was a bit twisted up. I straightened it up pretty well and knowing I was going to chop off the front triangle, I wasn’t too worried. I ordered a long head tube and steerer from Nova cycle supply. I made a fixture on my welding table and sized it up. Seeing how far it was bent and what was salvageable.

Tonight I started the cutting process only after carefully taking measurements on the geometry. I am using a Bmx fork for a bit more toughness to make sure the booze gets to those who need it out on the trail. The theme will an old brewery from my home town. Not sure on wheel combination just yet. Love creating on the fly with some rough guidelines.

When I read you had ordered a long head tube, I did not realize that it would be that long - it is almost a mast :D
Exactly 12”:after cut to length. Fortunately, my buddy had a few old cwc frames lying around. It would have saved e some time if he would have just sold me one. 😀. But I’m sure you all know how that story goes.

I don't know where you're currently living but there are now 2 Koehler Beer Pubs in Pa. , 1 in Grove City and the other in Ellwood City , made from the original recipe , bottled & labled in the exact same bottles, check them out on Facebook

That is my understanding as well. I look forward to getting back east and checking it out.

A few hours in this evening. Finished the fork, inserted a 6 inch plug into steerer, and then drilled out 3/8 holes for plug weld. Then hit the seam. Cleaned it up real fast and assembled. I tacked the rest of frame up nicely and just wanted to confirm geometry was looking correct. I threw a few wheels on it and rolled it outside. Passed the initial visual litmus test. Took it back in and finished welding. I cut gussets and put them in place. Busted out the Kooka cranks I have been hoarding for some time. Going to strip the purple and polish. The Phil Wood BB is going into the adapter. I will have more into parts than the bike will ever be worth, but whatever. The Tuff Neck locks up nicely into the new steerer tube.

Before I weld up gussets, I will drill out them and provide support for the main front carrier support.

This afternoon, I started on the carrier support and finished welding the gussets. I changed the stem over to a free style tuffneck so I wouldn't have any issues with interference from the brakes. So now the cable runs down through the steerer and out bottom of fork. No issues now. Next was to form the braces for the rack. Pretty straight forward. Tomorrow I will fab the forward mounting support and establish angle of the cargo. I tore down one of my kids radio flyer. Now that they are 21 and 22, I don’t think they will miss it. I’m going to section and reweld the tub to a more practical dimension. I’m also considering taking the left overs from the wagon and turn it into a tow along keg carrier. 😀
