So a friend of mine was getting paid to clean out this little old ladies' garage, He brought this over to me and told me that it was her bike and she was the original owner. She told him to get rid of it  It's all there and all original and in pretty good shape! It has some old allstate tires mounted on the wheels that must have been put on....mmmm....maybe in the early 50's??? They look like NOS! No dryrot and the little extra line of rubber that is in the center of the tread is all there!!! ...brand new!!! I aired up the tires and took it for a spin around the block....SMOOOOOTH.
A couple of those string things on the rear fenders are broke on the left side, no biggie.
There is a metal tag wraped at the bottom of the headtube that reads "MC IND BYC REG no 02987" I guess thats Michigan City, Indiana Bicycle Registration Number... That's where I'm at. So cool to see a bike this age still around in it's hometown.
I'm anxious to put some batteries in the light and horn and see what happens. Sorry about the low quality pictures. took them with my phone.
Anybody out there have any info on these Schwinn La Salle bikes???
