Yes I plan on restoring it back to original since it is such a rare bike only made them one year in 1941 it is a Colson Built Firestone Super Cruiser sold back then for $46.95. going to go to ann arbor tomorrow and hopefully find some parts for it.

yes there is several layers of paint on the bike. any good Ideas how to get some of the house paint off to get to the original paint. I went to Ann Arbor bike show today found the rear reflector, horn, rear tail light. still looking for a chain guard. if you have any of these things please let me know. thanks.

That's a killer bike. Try oven cleaner, or you can try stripper, but be waiting with something to rinse it off with as soon as it starts to go, but try the oven cleaner first.

You can also get a mini sandblaster from Harbor Freight called a "Mini Eraser" or something like that. Good for gentle removal of upper layers of crusty home-applied paint.

Long number represents the serial number then the F = June and the 1 = 1941

Typical codes by year would be:

F7 over 12345 equals 1937,
12345 over F8 equals 1938,
12345 over F9 equals 1939,
12345 over F0 equals 1940,
12345 over F1 equals 1941,
and 12345 over F2 equals 1942

Thanks for the Info. still looking for some parts on this bike before I start to restore it. :D

Im still trying to track down parts for it then hopefully within the next year I have time to restore it. Im think have Maroon beige and white pinstrips like this one.
