Picked this up over the weekend. Non-original wheels and I don't know what else. Traded a 67 Schwinn Ramshorn for it. Probably not the best deal, but I got the Stingray for $260, so I'm looking at it like I got the Monark for $260.

I wouldn't know. The chrome was redone, looks like quite some time ago. I wouldn't be surprised if the paint was redone at the same time. If it was repainted, it was redone professionally.

I have to agree, $260.00 was not a bad deal. Its easy to see that it isnt all there, but enough of it is, and what is there works well enough to look really nice! Looks like a set of Sta-Tru wheels w/105 Ga. spokes and a nice set of street tread whitewalls were added, shoot, theres a C-note alone! Nice to see someone who appreciates these old ballooners in my neck of the woods! Later & PEACE!!!!!

id say you got a great deal. i'd swap that seat out for a 50's tan persons or somethin more classic and call it a day. and twiddle my thumbs till i find a good deal on a monark train light. and thats a wrap :D

Anyone got a cool old seat or 2 they want to sell? I've got a Schwinn Hollywood that I just powder coated in semi-gloss black and put together for my wife that I'd like to get a seat for too.

Don't think the handlebars are original. It came with some really wide bars that I just put on today, now my knees aren't getting in the way of steering. I'd love to get a bent seat post on it too to get the seat back a bit.

Thats a lovely bike
I really like the double sprung forks was it only Monark that went for that design?
