Fellow DHP (Dry Heat Panzers VW club) member - John's 1950 Schwinn Tornado how I got it. He wanted it re-done and to match his Type 3 Ghia. Here's how I got it.

This is what it wouldve originally looked like from Schwinn. It was a kids bike.

Speedshack is a VW resto shop in Tucson owned by some friends. They rebuilt John's engine and the sticker also matched. Win - win.

Here it is after. Re-powdercoated. New true black chain. Regreased, Cleaned. Etc etc... Banged it out til 3AM (night of my bday) to have done by 530AM to deliver back to Tucson.

A happy "kid". I call him Kenny Rogers Roasters. Dont know if he likes that I call him that.

That's beautiful! Powder coating the sissy bar, handlebars,seat post, and springer really makes it look sharp!
 
I'd actually never seen or heard of those type 3's until around a week ago, when I saw one on My Classic Car, he was at a car show in Puerto Rico. Now I've seen two! :mrgreen: ~Adam
