One of the first bike frames I picked up at a swap, I made the nubie mistake of not checking if I could move the seat post before cleaning and painting it. :21:
I snapped the end of the stuck post off, then welded an old crank and a pedal axle in it and pounded and twisted, and heated and oiled but it was stuck. Then it just sat in a corner for a couple years.

I decided to install a fixed seat post to use the frame. A study of 3 of my most comfortable bikes led to 28.5 inches crank centerline to seat top.

To bolster strength, I inserted a chunk of rebar like 6 inches into the existing stuck post and welded it in.

Then tapped a standard seat post cut to length in place and welded on the frame at the base and at the top by the end of the rebar.

Finally, added a collar made from a China Schwinn frame and bolted and tacked it in place. Then some primed and new paint tomorrow!

Not sure how I want to go with this one. I still have the maroon color paint, but I may change it up something brighter.
 
We had a big Plymouth station wagon that was about that same color. I think it was a ‘59 but I was a little kid, and I don’t really remember it. Just the color and the big fins.

Anyhow I have always been partial to that color type. Aqua, turquoise, seafoam green etc.
 
Tried a couple different forks today. Don't know what direction I'm going to take it.

These bolts look a little sketchy, I don't know anything about this fork (never had it on a bike.)

The rat trap springer has extra truss rods. They may have been added but aren't factory, I'm guessing. I might be wrong. All the rat trap springers I've seen don't have those extra bars. It looks like the ends don't mate up with the bolts on the bottom. But it looks like all the right parts are there.

I think I will mount the rat trap on another bike to test function.

Assembled with truss rods bent to line up with spring mount bolts in rear.
Kinda odd hardware where front of rockers connect to fork, one side has a turned down area on bolt head to fit rocker, other side the nut has the turned down area. Also rear bolts have self locker nuts but bolts seem to short after I added truss rods.
