1954 Evans/Colson Olympic

So I get these pictures from a friend.....

So I picked it up and after a little clean up.....

I'd like to find some period-correct tires to finish it off. Other than redoing all of the bearing I'm going to leave it as-is.

I'd also like to get correct fenders for it; they were a little bit deeper. The ones on it are older Wald fenders.

Yeah - the Evans-Colson fenders that I've seen were a little squarer-shouldered, and deeper. Usually painted in tri-color stripes, too.

Fenders for this one would have been curved, not squared according to the 1954 ads and catalogue.

Very nice AS IS survivor find complete and with a few period accessories too.
Deeper rounded fenders would be correct as the squared ones are on later versions Evans.
(I have later version posted elsewhere and sure would like to find a tank some day)

Only thing I'm curious about is mine not having the extremely rare springer fork. The one on it seems to be the original. Paint on the steer tube matches.

To let you in on a little secret, it was filmed around Toronto Canada and we don't actually have the pleasure of those culinary delights here.

so this evans/colson girls commander was on craigslist an hour away for $80......

and I needed truss rods and fenders.......

now I just have to refinish them and im also going to use the womens fork on the this one.

I also used the wheels off of the womens bike. all these parts were what should've been on it!
