1955 columbia newsboy special?

Hi there,
A friend of ours is trying to sell a really nice condition 1955 columbia newsboy special. It's all original, and it is the tank bike. It's in gold condition, but he has no idea what to value it at. I will try to get a picture of it, but as of right now I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas? I see a 1957 with no tank on ebay for $800 or $900, but that seems high? Thanks guys, appreciate any input!

First, I'd recommend Mr. Columbia's site, as he's the expert on them. But I don't think the Newsboy special came with a tank originally. They were basic ballooners without any fancy add ons. I'd expect one to be worth $3 - 400 average, that ebay figure is wishful thinking! I paid $550 for my 59 Schwinn Wasp, same style, but with a springer fork.
