That would be a great project if you have an extra set of wheels and tires. Those winged badges are cool.

..... would it have had s6's?

yep. although 700c works too if you want lighter alloy wheels. racers are a really practical bike with ( i think ) neat lines. :D

nice! its just like the mens white racer pictured above :) im goin back prob on fri to hopefully pick it up. think $45 is worth it? hoe hard to find are they?

woah forgot about this thread lol

I did go back and get it one thing I noticed about it was it is white but mines got the 57 style decals but white wasnt available in 57 guess it must be early 58 late 57

Not sure what im going to do with it yet prob wait till I find some schwinn s5s for it
:)

Thanks :)

What do you think? what should I build out of it... to be honest im not a huge fan of the way they are original and already have another bike this cruiser style with a positron 5 spd stick shift .... hmmmm

That looks sweet! I was thinking something along those lines... I have a shimano 333 hub with a 333 stick shift and tons of sets of apes that would look cool on it  just got to figure out what wheels would work what size tires you running front and rear?

Since that pic I shortened a Continental fork's head tube to the length of the Racers. I really bent the new Continental front fork with a conduit bender. I'm now running a Schwinn 24" rim and tire off an early '60s girls bike. The rear is a 26 X 2.25 steel rim with a generic cruiser tire. It gives it a good rake and is very ridable. Apes are off an AMF exercise bike and the rusty vintage Areobars came from a swap meet.
