Hi guys,
As a long time lurker here, I have been reading up quite a bit. I figured that I would add a bit to the site with my project, that after a long time was completed. This bike was my dad's, purchased new for around $34. It had been sitting in a basement for 30 some odd years, and when we sold the house, I took the bike and decided I wanted to update it. Save a few small parts, the bike was all original and intact, with the normal scuff marks and dings that a kid would put on it. After a teardown, new bearings, chain, wheels, a 3 spd hub, and whatnot, I sent it off to the guys at Circle A cycles here in Providence for a repaint, as I am terrible at paint. The result is pretty damn good, if I do say so myself. It rides great, turns a lot of heads, and just bleeds nostalgia.
