Picked up this July 28, 1960 built Corvette frame on July 27, 2014. Notice the dates again. Swap meet find. It needs some love. Looks like the fork and stem will need some muscle and rust juice.

They were loaded using Tapatalk. I'm able to see them with Tapatalk Pro App and Safari browser.

I think '60 was the first year of the new style chainguard with that "V" dip in it. Your fork still has the older style graphics. Gary

Added some PB blaster to stem at fork entry and beat on it a while last night. Added some more and let it set overnight. This afternoon I got the stem to move from side to side with rawhide mallet...was then able to get it to start moving out with the mallet and finally a ball peen hammer. The original bolt was missing so was able to get the wedge out with a new bolt. So the frame and fork may get to see life again.

The seat post is another challenge

Supposedly a 1960 Corvette looked like this, except mine was black. I'm missing a few parts, but will probably "rat" this one.

just found one as well

Soaked the kickstand bracket in water for a day. It finally freed up and I was able to get the pin out and the kickstand and spring. I plugged the the top hole in the seat post, turned it upside down and filled it up with water. We'll see, if the seat post stays stuck I have an alternative plan for it.

Possible color chip...

According to bottom of that add Schwinn had quite a few colors to choose from for the Corvette in 60. Red, blue, green, and black. Interesting that green was available for the 26" size only. That color chit you posted is interesting, that color might look great on this bike. It has sort of a hammer-tone look to it.

Frame, fork and stem at powder coater.

So you get the seat post out?

Luke.
No it's still stuck. I have an alternative plan for fixed post. I'll post photos later when I get it fine tuned. Picked a clamp for it on Friday.

I've moved further discussion of this bike to the Builds Forum. Got it back from powder coaster today...Gold Vein ahead. This is a "cool down build" from BONINE.
