I bought this original 1963 Schwinn American took it all apart and decided to re-assemble with some extra parts I had laying around. What do you think? A tall person's Sting-Ray with a tank!

I like it!

You could rotate the seat bracket forward and get more of an upright sissy bar.

I had a Typhoon in '69 that I bought for doing my paper route. Bought it from another carrier and it was set up just like yours pretty much. I have a front rack to support the paper bag. The 2 speed kickback was perfect. I ran fenders but I rode in the rain a lot. It was a comfortable ride for a tall kid back then. Gary

I put the bike back to original condition. One front fender brace has been replaced with a Wald and the front light guts are gone. The horn is in working order.
