When I bought this, I thought I had bought an Eldorado. Well, I got my light and switch in today and it turns out, that I had two factory slots for a switch. It came with something else other than a light. So I thought maybe there is some lettering left on the gaurd. I got forensic with it and found that it was really a "Silver Jet". I can't find much on this model except only a handful of pics and thats about it. I suspect the other thing in the tank was a horn. Basically, it was Huffy's answer to the Murray built Flight/Liner bikes (Spaceliner/Cosmic Flyer/Meteor Flite, etc). The frame and fork was once chrome (I think I can save it!).

My questions are:

1. Besides the horn issue (if that is what it is missing in the tank) is everything else here pretty much correct for the bike? If not, what I am missing?
2. Should this bike have a Komet Super rear hub? It seems out of place on a 1966 bike.
3. What could it be worth after I fix it? (most likely less than what I spent to restore as usual)

Here are some pics, the guts of the headlight are inside, I'm tinkering with them:

I'd grease up the bearings, tighten the spokes and ride the rubber off of it the way it is. As for restoration answers, there are guys who care about that kind of stuff on here... or so I've heard.

tune,lube, new tires/tubes.
clean it up.......
if you must. :|
Rats have Rust.
it will last another 45 years

True, I did think about just doing a mechanical resto at first when I thought it was an Eldorado as you guys said-until I saw it was a Silver Jet and then the possibility of it being-CHROME! Drool droool.... I just love chrome, expecially when I can leave a bit of character with it. I don't plan to make it show perfect. I'm not going to rechrome it if I can avoid it. I am just going to strip that white paint off and polish it up. I have a cool Firestone seat I kept from an old '41 Hawthorne I parted out (RIP). I'd love to put it on, but I can get it to fit. The seat takes a 7 post, the bike can't fit the 7 post. So I'm at a hard place on that. The only repair I DO NOT do, is (GASP!) wheel trueing. Although, I know someone who can.

the only thing I would like is to get a horn for the tank and find out if these Eldorado parts (rack and fenders) are still correct for the bike?

I ahve about 4 or 5 nice and very complete bikes right now in my work area and they need to be sold before I take another item apart. Or else, I may lose parts-I hate having a mess, that is usually what happens. After I sell some stuff and get some space, this puppy will come apart!
