1966 stingray help

Did schwinn make a fastback stingray in violet in 1966? i just purchased one in great shape. just wondering if it has been modified to a single speed or if it came like that? any info would be greatly appreciated.

Violet was a '66 color but the Fastbacks came in 5-speed only that year. Your bike cost $69.95 new. Gary
