1966 Typhoon in Violet!

I picked this up last fall at the Hershey AACA meet. It's a pretty beat up bike with nothing really special about it except for the heavy duty Schwinn saddle... Oh, and the fact that it's not a mens middleweight standard color. I don't show any references to violet mens' middleweights in any of my literature.

Here is is after a little fixin' up:

I still have some more accessories to put on it.

I did save all the original parts so it can be put back to the way I found it.

i appreciate my schwinns (esp my 62' american heavy duty) but yours in that color and how you've fixed it up is a really nice piece of work. smart to hold onto the original parts. nice ride. 8)

9 months later, I finally got the rest of the "jewelry" on it. It's ready to go now!

I wanted a chrome wire rear rack to balance the bike out. I never had any trouble finding these things until I wanted one. Recently, a friend came up with this clean, two-reflector jobbie. They're always in the last place you look.

I am a big fan of this headlight. I found it last year at a car show and was hoping to use it on something. It appears to have never been used. The wind-up clock keeps time and the 6V bulb works fine with the Miller generator.

I'm not touching that faded original screen on the guard. It matches all the scratches and chips on the frame. I do have a nice violet Hollywood guard that I could do up. (Super Deluxe Typhoon. maybe... :roll: ) I'll have to give that one some thought... :mrgreen:
