1970? Schwinn Stingray frame

Looks like I finally got a cool find.

I picked this up tonight after a few hours in the car. Everything there for $25. Just need to find some wheels, tires, seat and bars.

Serial looks like BF01177 which puts it at Feb 1970. Kind of odd since the Schwinn codes show 1970 having the serial number on the head tube, not the rear drop out.

The 70 serial number switched late spring from the rear drop out to the head tube. Nice find. Good luck with the build, Matt

And I was so hoping for a 60's. Can't complain though.

The original paint is definately in bad shape under the red. I think it may be green or blue, although I'm leaning green.

Still don't know what I'm going to do with it. Since I have no money I will just throw any 20" wheels and tires I can find for it.

Long term will be a nice powdercoat from work, banana seat and ape hangers.
