I had posted a before pic of this in my introduction a few weeks ago, and this is an update. I'm in Central arkansas...Benton. I was given a girl's 26 inch Good Vibrations Huffy cruiser bike (only had flat tires, and headed to the trash by a resident here). Only pink on it is rims and a little trim, but mostly in black and white, with checkerboard accents on the back of the seat and on the chain guard. There are pinstriping decals on the ends of all the fenders, and they are not peeling, but are faded and sketchy, like pinstripes on an old, beat up custom hot rod. They are perfect. I saw the potential for a sweet, classic, custom mail-getter with high bars. No repaint or polishing. I like the original dull finish. Going to paint the rims flat black. Last 2 pics are with the high bars on and the checkered grips. And who says a 55 yr old man can't toodle around on a girl's bike? I'm probably senile, too.

Let's see this little lady with her new sneakers on and take
'er for a run.
Thanks for your comment. Painting rims this week. New meats on after that. Those tires were expensive as heck, but there was no way that they weren't going on the bike, once i discovered them on ebay. Great quality, too. I'll post more pics in a few days.

Got the rims painted and the little lady finished. It rides great, but the bars are too narrow and it makes the bike have shaky handling bc they are so sensitive to inputs. So I'm going to get some wider bars, with the ends more facing out. Oh, and I'm going to go with higher v ape hangers just to add more flair. I am really happy with this job on my first custom bike. I used to restore old British motorcycles and compared to those basket cases of frustration and despair, this was a piece of cake. Granted, I really didn't do a whole lot away from stock, since I liked the black and white theme, and the checkerboard accents. I especially like the white chain I found to put on. I left the stem and chainwheel rusty chrome, just so it will have a tie to the original old bird. Plus, I didn't polish or touch up the fenders, leaving the scuffs and scratches on it. I'm going to ride this sucker a lot, but there is a 6 year old girl I know to whom I'm going to give the bike in about 5 years, when she's bigger. Will put lights and reflectors on before I give it to her.
