1st Find in over 3 months 1969 Schwinn road something

This isn't very exciting, but I haven't found a bike in over 3 months(since I moved from WI to CO). My wife came home last night and said there were three bikes down the road with a "FREE" sign so I went to have a look. Two were absolute junk Huffy and Murray ladies' mountain bikes, but I figured I'd take this old Schwinn. Anyway, serial number says it's a 1969. It's a 5-speed, but I don't know what model it is. Not sure if I'll strip it out for some parts or save it for some sort of project. I'm not into the road bike thing at all.

Looks like a Collegiate, should have a chain guard on it. Collegiate was on the chain guard. I have one just like it. My front sprocket has been changed though. I wouldn't part it out.

26x1.75 will fit in those frames. Just some thing to think about. :wink:

Looks to be a Collegiate Sport, which has the road bars & seat. Easy to swap out to make a regular touring Collegiate anyways. ~Adam
