I went out to the town were I work last night to pick up a fender for Jlarkin. The guy I was looking for wasn't home (sorry John) so I left a message, pulled out of his drive and turned left down the alley to head home and looky what I found. Two 50's era Hercules 3 speeds and two Monark built bikes. Ones a 20" Firestone Pilot and the other is a 26"Spiegel Airman....I believe these to both be prewar but I'll let the experts tell me.
I talked to the lady that lived there. She told me she was 92 and these belonged to her family. They tore down the building that they were stored in and had sat them out for the junk man (turns out thats me). If I hadn't been looking for that fender, I wouldn't have found these.....thanks John
Sometimes it's just about being in the right place!
No Chris, I don't want to get rid of the chain guard
