I have found a old 24" Schwinn and want to know if parts are available and if they have any value. When I say parts...I'm thinking custom type stuff if I wanted to rat it a little. Are they comfortable for an adult to ride. I am 5'7". I see most bikes on here are 20" or 26". Thanks for your thoughts.
This is the bike.

Re: 24" bikes

At 5'7", you can probably ride it, you may need a long seat post. At 6'2", that's how I ride 26". Some guys like to use the 24x1.75/2.125" wheels on 26" bikes with big 3" balloons. You might be able to trade it for a 26", or just find a frame w/ good clearance and do that yourself. If it's a skinny tire road bike, it's only good for a kid's bike.

They're certainly low on value, that's why I've got 2 of them! I managed to STUFF some 26"ers on one and I made a large scale StingRay out of the other. I'm the same height,BTW.

24" arent valuabe i can see certain ones to be but only if there special bikes like the donald duck ones etc.
i have 1 24" and havent rode it yet im only 5'3" and find a stock 24" uncomfortable to ride , apes and a taller seat post is the way to go with them, i gave my other 24" to a friend who was shorter then me and like like it..
and parts shouldnt be hard to find handle bars, seats etc should be pretty much interchangable , the fenders, tires and rims are out there and here on the board in the for sale section people are always selling stuff you might need

Joker... the red and black bike is kinda what I was thinking about if I get it.

Jen... The value isn't real important unless I was getting ripped off or a really good deal :D

i have a few. one i stretched, one is a musclebike project and one is the back half of a stretch (a 26 makes the front half). just got one more recently that'll get stretched when i feel like doing it.

edit to throw in some pics

there's a build thread for this one
