On my way home from work today I drove by a house and this was lying on the front lawn...So NATURALLY I went up and knocked on the door...The lady said I could have it as long as I didn't sell it for scrap!!! I'm not sure I'd call it a "fresh" find...More like "ripe"!! But there's somthing in it waiting to come out...I hope it's not a cockroach!!

My son, Tony is gonna need a 24" sooner or later!

for me thats the hard thing about the 24" bikes that i run across is that at 6' 2" and all legs, i have no use for a bike that size. but sounds like you got the perfect plan to fix it up for your son. kinda like when i was looking for a step thru style/girls frame for my wife and a mid 60's hawthorne. looks like a great start and i can't wait till i have kids of my own to do that for.

When I first laid eyes on it, I couldn't tell what size it was...Then when I walked up to the house, and I could see that is was a 24", I was already committed to it! I just couldn't leave it lying there on the ground... The tank is solid, and it's in overall good shape. So it'll go into the que for a future build! :D

I got a girls version of that today along with 2 mountain bikes and a old schwinn varisity all deliverd to me free  I robbed the varisity of all its good parts and gave it and the 2 mountain bikes away , but i kept that sears its out in my shed i'll snap some pics tomorrow.

I got the same boys frame hanging up down in the basement. Had it for a while, just don't know what to do with it...
All of a sudden we're awash in 24" Sears tanker bikes!

Mine's missing everything but the crank. I have had it on the stand a couple times, only to take it down again when i can't see anything in it's future. The cut off wheel has been itching to take a crack at it for a while.
