24x3 on a skinny wheel?

Has anyone put a 24x3 tire on a lightweight narrow wheel? What were your results?

You talking about a 1 3/8" wheel, like from a 10-spd or 3-spd touring bike? Won't work. 1.75" type rim needed. :|

Thanks, that's what I was wondering. I have a few fresh finds to post, but one has a Shiamano 333 3 speed with a 24 x 1-3/8 tire, and I was wondering if I could squeeze a 24x3 on it.

it's not only the width, the 1 3/8 rims/tires are also a different diameter- even though they both say '24'......

Just for giggles, i put the tire next to the wheel, and just by looking, I could see it wasn't gonna work. Oh well.
