And the basement, probably a 1000+ unrestored ballooners, middleweights, musclebikes, just tons of bikes

Yep CCR, they have the tightrope typhoon. There's just soo many wild and beautiful bikes that you have go a few times because you pass things up and don't even realize it. They just got a monocycle, it's kinda like a gyroscope that you sit in and a giant wheel surrounds you, you can somewhat see it in the pic of the 1 millionth schwinn. This place is my disneyland (and only $3 dollar admission too!)

I'm actually in Disneyworld right now browsing on my blackberry. And it is costing me a tad more than $3... :(
Just think of all the bikes I could be buying.
Wife and daughter just went to sleep and I am catching up on all the ratrod happenings.

Do they plan on fixing all those bikes in the basement?

No, that's the funny part, or sad I guess. They've been sitting down there since the schwinn collection was bought years ago. A few will get restored and circulated in the museum over time, but the majority will sit down there for who knows how long. Absolutely nothing is for sale, you would'nt believe what's down there: Phantoms (Black,Red,Green, even a girl's Phantom), A Bowden Spacelander, a 72 disc orange krate, turn of the century stuff, the list just goes on and on.....

i think they had a handful of pee-wee bikes made up for the movie, i now several have showed up on ebay from time to time, the last one i saw had holes cut in the rear side bags for the insane amounts of chain to come out of for the part were peewee chains up his bike.

i havent been to the bicycle museum, but i have been to the alamo ... didnt find the basement though

and on a side note. i believe DisneyWorld has 2 of the handful of Schwinn 4-seater tandems, and i believe anyone can ride them there too !! I also think i saw a pic of one hanging in College Cyclery ?maybe? !

Thanks for posting the pic of the Black Phantom. I'm trimming out the frame of one now and that pic answered several questions I had. Man that's a neat museum. Thanks!!!
