After a long day of working outside again, a quick surf of craigslist came up with a fresh posting of a old bike for sale.
For $15 I couldn't pass it up.

Its a sears and roebuck "Free Spirit" Its a 3 speed coaster brake hub.

I plan on taking the 3 speed from this and putting in a single speed and flipping it or maybe stretch it. :D

yeah, great columbia! that looks like a shimano 3sc 3speed hub, similar to shimano's standard 333 hub. i don't like them as much as s.a. and won't even attempt to rebuild one. it'll go perfect with the columbia, but maybe some new hoops. ones on that columbia looked a bit rough and alum wheels just feel so good.

That's the same hub I'm using on my Schwinn. It doesn't have a lube port, but I thought it might need some lubrication, being 20 or more years old, so I shot spray lube in the axle after taking out the shift pin, and let it run through to the other side, and used the pin to shift the gears while I spun the wheel. It shifts even better and spins like a new hub again.
