A new project coming along... all I have so far is one teaser pic.

The bike is a '63 JC Higgins men's 26" spaceliner type bike, already stretched and modified into a low slung chopper style. The fork was welded together from 2 Murray/Sears forks to make one tall fork.

The paint job is a black/silver fade. Tires are modern WW slicks, courtesy of our local rat and Schwinn bike shop guy, Terra Cyclery. The wheels were painted housepaint white when we got em and they've pretty much stayed that way.

Seat is a big old cruiser thing I had hanging around. The lower rear of the frame is fabricated up from some tapered square/oval tubing from the back end of some cheap junkpile mountain bike frame.

Kickstand is mounted to a bracket welded under the new section, with an old tappet wrench welded on as an extension to the kickstand.

You can sit riding pretty much leaning back against the rack, now twisted and angled so the rear end points at the sky.

Today's project is the sidecar addition. The bottom of the bike frame was reinforced to hold a gusseted plate with 2 carriage bolts in it. A mating piece was made up to accept the carriage bolts and hold on the sidecar frame, and adjusted until it was nice and parallel and square before welding.

The fork is just a steel mountain bike fork, welded to the U channel. The fender is from probably a 40's Columbia- a friendly junkman brought us this killer set of fenders with a light and rear bumper the other day, from a house getting cleaned out. Cool stuff!

Sorry only one small picture today, but more coming. This is gonna be fun!
