I'm not sure if I've ever posted a bike on this site!

so this is what I would call a rat rod. or maybe its more of a survivor hot rod... :) but its all original except for the tires and has PLENTY of patina. rides like a big fat 1958 caddy... this thing just ROLLS.

still not sure if I'm going to keep it, but its fun right now.

thanks guys. I can't get over how original this bike was when I found it. the original western flyer batteries were still in the rocket ray and it still had the original us royal chain tread tires on it. it was a nice find. I've been looking for a nice ballooner, and this one just kind of fell in my lap AND it came with a just as original girls' bike that has made a great donor for my boardtrack project... too bad it didn't have an engine. :)

how much did you buy it for!!?

thats like asking a woman how much she weighs! :D

but this and the girls' bike cost me $75... tires I had along with the 2 days of elbow grease to clean it up. I think I might be able to rub the paint out a bit more but I might not risk it with the decals and pinstripes.

but I think its a keeper anyhow. I've decided to sell or part a few of the other bikes. this one will stay as is. I'll only sell it if I'm desperate for cash for my 1950 ford project.

this was the girls' bike:

the wheels and bars are on my ~1935 elgin boardtracker wip. the tires (nice uncracked davis deluxes) are already on my 1936 schwinn ratty rider. the rest of the bike I'm parting. I might keep the frame for a sex change I'm kind of in a mood to do some cutting.
