I finally got this one riding. Got the frame, fork and truss from another RRB member. Repainted it and pieced everything else together. First time ever putting together a skip. It rides a little rough. Really clicky and clanky sounding. Maybe the chains worn out, I'm not sure. I overhauled everything so I don't think anything is wrong with the rear wheel. I think it turnd out pretty good though. Probably will put some white walls on it soon. The tires on it are some All state balloon tires, pretty cracked up but still work for the time being. Here is some before and after pics.

How about coasting? If it pedals rough without slipping or sticking but coasts smooth and quietly, it's either the crank bearing or the chain and/or a sprocket/sprockets. Otherwise give your hub bearings and races a good hard look. Roll the balls between a couple of window panes, check the races for secondary grooving.:bigboss:

:39:Spin test the front while you're at it. Transferred vibrations can make chain guards noisy.

Coasts fine and the chainguard wasn't on yet and it wasn't doing it so those 2 are out and I know the cranks was spinning with no problems before I install the chain. I'm guessing it is something with the chain or maybe the teeth on the chain wheel. I'll take another look tomorrow and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for the help

Looks good!
I had the chain on my old 53 Schwinn barely touch the rear bracket of the chain guard when I pedaled. I couldn't see it stopped because the slack in the chain was taken up when I pedaled. It barely touched the upper part of the bracket.

Yeah I know its not the chain guard cause I had the sound before the I put the chain guard on. Its gotten a little better since yesterday though. I'm going to put new tires on probably next week. I'll probably take the chain of and clean it up alittle more. Maybe the chain is too tight. It was barely long enough to get the axle in the drop outs.
