I rushed over to get this on the other side of town (CL find) because of the springer fork. Didn't notice it was only half a springer fork. I thought it was added, but on closer inspection, I think the springer is original, and the fork is the ad on, but I don't know. The main fork is definitely from a middle weight bike, the front fender is bent in a bit to fit and the tire barely fits. Wheels are matching rims and spokes, but the rear hub is New Departure and the front is Bendix, very heavy duty everything on the wheels. Chainguard was an ad on. Whatever I do with it, it needs either the rest of the springer or a properly sized fork.

I think the wheels are original, at least the hoops are. I don't know if it's possible for the Bendix and New Departure hubs to be original, but the spokes and wheels are identical front and back. And yes, very heavy duty.

H.D. wheels 105 ga. spokes and a Bendix K hub, have seen this set up on a 57 model ballooner. This would have been a dealer op on something that would see heavy duty use, like a serious paper route. Nice wheels, your not likely to bend these unless you seriously trying to.

That frame dates to 6/23-6/28 of 1954 if you were wondering. When you pull that fork, check for the locking springer tab in the headtube. You may have a Phantom frame there!

What would that look like? Or will I know when I see it?
